How can I uninstall windows longhorn and reinstall my windows xp?

When I try to install xp my computer shuts down!!!

Go to your BIOS (by pressing either delete or F2 on startup), and change the boot order. Make the CD-ROM boot first. Then put the installation CD in your CD-ROM drive. Then restart your computer, and watch the magic happen! During the installation, be sure to format the HD partition that Longhorn is on.

if you have a Recovery Partition drive in your computer you can use that to reinstall your Operating System it should give you a choice to either reinstall Longhorn or the other choice of Installing XP or you can stick the Windows XP disc in your cd drive.
