We have 3 indoor adult cats that have no problems using the litter box as they are supposed to. The problem is that one of the adult females recently had a litter of 3 kittens that are now about 10 weeks old, and 1 of them refuses to use the box. We have 2 boxes that are cleaned daily, and none of the others have a problem using the box (es) even when they aren't emptied. What can we do? This one kitten is destroying our furniture, and it's getting to the point where I may have to get rid of it!

Leave some "stuff" in the litterbox ,so that little kitten knows what it is for.
Thats how my Ferrets learned to "go" in them.

Some cats have a litter preference. Maybe the kitten doesn't like the way the clay or litter feels. Or it could be that they want their own litter box. I've seen both problems.

Well I have 2 cats of my own and my female had 4 lil kittens (I trained them all by myself) and I had a problem just like yours but all I did was instead of putting litter in it...I put newspaper.. for some odd reason lil kittens prefer the smell of newspaper and go on that instead of a litter box. It worked for my lil kitten and it might work for yours so try it out. Goodluck!

Some cats are afraid to go where other cats went. It is suggested each cat have their own litter box. Maybe this particular cat needs to be in a family where it's the only cat.
They do prefer litter boxes because they like to cover up their scent.

If the kitten is the "runt" of the litter it's because it does not feel safe while "expelling." The problem will eventually clear-up but the best thing you can do IS give it away.

Nature's Miracle is an fantastically good sort. i have used it even as my cat has lengthy gone to the lavatory on the carpet. It fairly covers up the scent. Letting the kitten outdoors might want to be a difficulty, because it makes him perplexed, and makes him imagine that he can visit the lavatory everywhere he needs. keep him interior for a even as (you may enable him out in case you fairly favor to). If he pees on the carpet, make confident no longer to yell at him. It stresses the kitten out, and he will be possibly to pee on the carpet lower back. instead, tell him in an organization yet variety voice, "No." carry him to the muddle field. he will study that it truly is the position he ought to visit the lavatory. i'm hoping this enables.
