In church u taught life was created by god but in school im taught that it happened by evolution and we were created by monkeys... so which is real and how can i believe one thing and not the other.. it confuses me alot and i dont think schools should focus on that subject because it really does causes stress and confusion between the too.

The problem is that everything that you're taught about god is based on other people beliefs. Those other peoples beliefs are based on a book written 2000 years ago by the equivalent of cave men compared to todays standards of knowledge. People 2000 years ago couldn't figure out how to keep their teeth from falling out much less the origin of the universe.

Evolution by natural selection is something that is happening and is undeniable.

Did you just say we were CREATED by monkey? :) Monkeys must be gods then.

Seriously, don't be confused with how the universe or humans came to be. You can believe in the two God and Evolution. Evolution can still be valid with a God and God would still be needed even if we may have gone through evolution.

Evolution is not the beginning but THE description of development. It answers the question, "HOW". God is THE beginning. It anwers the question, "Who or What". Wether there's evolution or some other ways that resulted to the universe being created, God will always be THE beginning. I like to think of creation as a series of changes in nature based on a mathematical sequence written by God. For me, He did not necessarily "create" things like people create things but instead created natural laws that would progressively, in time, result to everything we see around us including us. So you see, there is a way of seeing the truth without having to pit God against Science. In evolution, it slowly unfolds the beauty of the universe and better shows the power of God than imagining some fantastic actions by God as if He is human. Remember that Genesis was written by a man when life was so simple (no science) and vocabularies are limited. Genesis wasn't written to teach science but to reveal a creator, a God who made all things.

FIrst of all, evolution, in no way, says that man was created by monkeys -- if, in fact, man WAS created by a monkey (or a group of monkeys) the monkeys would be God.

Secondly -- science is taught in school -- and evolution is part of science -- there is fact based upon it -- in my lifetime, alone, one particular group of moths have evolved the ability to turn from a pale white color to a dark brown color, so that they can blend in with the trees -- evolution is fact.

God is not a fact -- that's why it's called a belief. Nobody on the face of the earth can prove that the Christian god, the Muslim God, the Hindu God(s) . . . are in fact, the 'true' God.

Maybe a more serious question for you to ask of yourself is not WHAT do I believe, but DO I believe?

If you come to the realization that religion is a large part of your life, then you have to determine what religion that is -- just because mommy and daddy drag you to the same church for eighteen years does not mean you HAVE to believe what that church teaches.

Actually the scientific approach is that monkeys and humans descended from a common ancestor. Evolution takes place all the time--species adapt to fill a niche and in turn are replaced by better adapted species, and they become extinct. There easily may be a God who put the whole process in motion--the origin of the Universe, the origin of Life, but current religion is missing that by battling science (ie, reality) over issues like evolution.

It is up to you to decide what you believe. I dont understand why schools cant teach both because of the seperation of church and state, but yet they say it is ok for them to make the decision of gay marriage.

So my dear, you need to believe what you want or maybe even a combination of both. You can still believe that you were created by God and the story of Adam and eve AND believe that we evolved. If you are a religious person you have to remember that humans are not perfect, so we may have made a mistake about evolution. Also remember that there is a huge chunk of our history that is missing in the dated times.

And remember, it is ok not to know the answer or to be sure about it.

I am going to confuse you even more. Actually both are correct! God created life, but that life continues to evolve even today. We all adapt to our environment and as such we slowly evolve inorder to survive.

What is incorrect is the teaching that one species 'evolves' into another. A dog will always be a dog, an elephant will always be an elephant, a monkey will always be a monkey and a human being will always be a human. Look at it this way, the teching is that we evolved from ape like creatures, if that were true, why are there still apes walking this planet?

Please pay attention to your words. No school teaches that "we were created by monkeys". They suggest that humans evolved from monkeys. Now, this isn't to say that some chimpanzees a long time ago gave birth to people. The process of evolution takes millions of years and is never over. I am quite certain God was created by monkeys as a practical joke on us homo sapiens. That's why they laugh at us and flaunt their sexuality.

firstly, we were not created from monkeys. the human race was monkey like, but human nonetheless. we were always human, its just that they evolved as time went by. for example, as time progressed, humans became more and more dependent on their eyesight, which is why we walk upright. also, the hair was shed as the ice ages ended. a lot of stff about evolution is not known because people just go with the monkeys theory. this is not true, as there are still monkeys around us. For example, mammoths were elephants, its just that the new elephants are just improved versions by nature over the years. same with horses. just ask a biology specialist, and they will tell you. creationism is ok to believe also, but they do not go hand in hand. just make sure to separate your logic and your religion, and all will be fuine.

Evolution is a "theory" based upon speculation and pieces of evidence that are at best, thousands of years apart from the events that caused them to come about. Check out this article and you will see why evolution is a theory in crisis.

Human Evolution: What is it?
Human evolution is not supported by the fossil evidence. Much of the alleged evidence that filled text books over the last 50 years has now been reclassified or rejected altogether. The missing links are still missing.

Human Evolution: The Legacy of the Fossil Evidence
Human evolution has many issues, including the realities of genetics, biochemistry, design theory, irreducible complexity, DNA structure, and information systems. However, the reality of the human fossil record alone is enough to reject the theory of human evolution all together. Here are just a few of the major problems with the alleged fossil record of the past century:

Ramapithecus was widely recognized as a direct ancestor of humans. It is now established that he was merely an extinct type of orangutan.

Piltdown man was hyped as the missing link in publications for over 40 years. He was a fraud based on a human skull cap and an orangutan's jaw.

Nebraska man was a fraud based on a single tooth of a rare type of pig.

Java man was based on sketchy evidence of a femur, skull cap and three teeth found within a wide area over a one year period. It turns out the bones were found in an area of human remains, and now the femur is considered human and the skull cap from a large ape.

Neandertal man was traditionally depicted as a stooped ape-man. It is now accepted that the alleged posture was due to disease and that Neandertal is just a variation of the human kind.

Human Evolution: The Current Tree
Human evolution has its currently fashionable specimens that lead from small ape-like creatures to Homo sapiens. These are examples of the most recent alleged links:

Australopithecus afarensis, or "Lucy," has been considered a missing link for years. However, studies of the inner ear, skulls and bones have shown that she was merely a pygmy chimpanzee that walked a bit more upright than some other apes. She was not on her way to becoming human.

Homo erectus has been found throughout the world. He is smaller than the average human of today, with a proportionately smaller head and brain cavity. However, the brain size is within the range of people today and studies of the middle ear have shown that he was just like current Homo sapiens. Remains are found throughout the world in the same proximity to remains of ordinary humans, suggesting coexistence. Australopithecus africanus and Peking man were presented as ape-men missing links for years, but are now both considered Homo erectus.
Homo habilis is now generally considered to be comprised of pieces of various other types of creatures, such as Australopithecus and Homo erectus, and is not generally viewed as a valid classification.

Human Evolution: The Most Recent Find
In July 2002, anthropologists announced the discovery of a skull in Chad with "an unusual mixture of primitive and humanlike features." The find was dubbed "Toumai" (the name give to children in Chad born close to the dry season) and was immediately hailed as "the earliest member of the human family found so far." By October 2002, a number of scientists went on record to criticize the premature claim -- declaring that the discovery is merely the fossil of an ape.

Human Evolution: The Theory Has No Support in the Fossil Record
Human evolution is a theory in denial. With all of this fossil evidence (or lack thereof) it becomes increasingly clear to an earnest seeker that human evolution did not happen at all.
