Suppose I dont believe that there is a god or several gods or any sentient being out there. However, I dont think that religion is bad. Its great if a group of diverse people can be brought together under the ideas of certain morally correct behaviors and beliefs. Regardless of wheather anultimate god exists, if belief in his teachings encourages people to do good, then i'm all for it. Religion starts to get bad when it stops promoting coexistance and love and starts codemning any group with different ways of practicing. I read about atheism, but that seems like it scorns people who do believe in a divinity, and I dont think that it's right to discriminate people for their beliefs(so long as they're positive). I also dont think that we should only do good in this life so as not to be punished when we die. I think people should do good while they're here because its the right thing to do, and when you die, you're dead. :-) Any response, imput, or advice would be appreciated!

You mistake wisdom for being "judgmental". There is only one true religion. Jesus said this while He was on earth. He established the traditional Catholic Church and said if you are not part of it, you will not obtain heaven. It is not judgemental to say that non-Catholics will go to hell. It's just a fact that we are repeating from Our Lord. I love non-Catholics. I don't want them to go to hell. You have to separate people from religion. The people aren't evil, it's the heretical religions that are. We keep praying for the conversion of non-Catholics.

To believe what you believe is just foolish. I don't mean to insult you, but you can't just compile a belief and then it becomes true. You have to either follow the way of Christ or do not. He gives you a free choice, but you must realize that if you do not, hell is the only other option. God bless you.

I'm not sure, but you might be talking about the Agnostics. It seems like you've had some bad experiences. I'm sorry you did. It's unfortunate that many of my brothers & sisters interpret the Bible to fit their needs, as well as many churches. I don't know if you've had bad experiences with people or with a church, but we and they aren't all like that. Some of us do practice pure religion, with nothing but God added. Nothing but the Bible. I really hope you find what's best for you. If not, start reading in the book of John, on your own, and see what it says for yourself. Have a great day. <*)))><

Yes relgion is all well and good, but some relgions have problems. The reason I am not a Christian is the deffinate of it. If you don't believe you go to hell no matter how you lived your life. I rather like Buddhism, there is no set god but it has pretty sound prinicples.

Sounds atheist to me Just because *most* atheists seem to bash other religions, not all do. And you certainly don't have to either (and you shouldn't!).
