Well i actuatly think that Jesus would have brought some shame on his family....
If the family buisness was carpentry, then Jesus didnt follow that and carry on in the family buisness.Im not a bible follower... but i dont remember reading or being told stories at school about how his parents where supportive of his choice to be the son of God etc etc...?
perhaps, Jesus was a crap carpenter??... after all if you look at all the stuff that has been found by archilogists, no one has found a single piece of woodware crafted by Jesus!!.
Nor is there any note of him making anything.
To my knowledge, his was refered to as the son of a Carpenter.... so its a bit like the same mistake as people thinking that Frankenstien was the monster!(Frankenstien's monster).

What a Herod person you must be. He was a member of the Carpenters and was often mistaken for a joiner. He met Mary Magdalene when she had a heavy cold and was down by the sea sucking a Fisherman's Friend.

It was never said jesus was a carpenter, nor was it said that his father, joseph, was one. It was said they were "craftsmen", which in those days meant an altogether different thing. So perhaps he mastered the ikea conundrum in his spare time!!

Back then a carpenter would have made practical furniture.
An honest trade.

I'd guess he would have been involved in making small items like bowls and trays as he traveled about a lot and larger items would need a permamant workshop.
