Is the idea realistic?

Would it work?

Let's face it, anyone who cares about "saving" someone so badly that they end up on their doorstep, probably wants to rob them

I really do believe that most people are more annoyed by their intrusions, pestering and sometimes full blown harrassment, than they are appreciative of it.

Should this question be posed under the category of Law, Religion, Civic Participation or all three places?

If the proselytizer(s) keep coming back when requested not to, do you think their disobedience stems from the fact that nobody actually wants to be bothered with carrying out their threat to sue them or have them charged? e.g. finding parking space to visit the lawyer, paying the legal bills, document preparation

No, people in America love their freedom and as soon as you start taking away freedoms it will be a down hill spiral. We don't want a police state here.

No. They would just call you on the phone. The Do Not Call list doesn't block those with non-profit status or political parties.

It would be a waste of time. There are much more important issues to worry about. Like flag burning and gays.

When you see the Johovah Witnesses walking up your driveway, answer the door in your undies, they won't stay. :)
