i know this is like gross but, my mom has been bitten on both of her ankles, they've swelled up real bad, she wants 2 know if she should squeeze the bite or not?

Localised swelling is normal, a reaction to the substance the insect uses to numb the site. If the whole foot swells and goes red cold compress and elevation of the foot will help. If it continues to swell, is red and painful after 24 hours she needs antibiotics- she should see a doctor.

What bit her? I`m no doctor but if my ankles were swelling after begin bitten by whatever it does not seem like thats what should happen, my advice is to go to the doctor or hospital, I would not fool around with swelling something is going on.

First off, what was she bitten by? Get to a doctor honey. He'll be able to prescribe something to make the swelling go down and to clear up the infection. If it gets really bad it could poison her blood system and that would be really bad.

Bitten by what? Any squeezing could send the toxins into the bloodstream faster. Go see a doctor right away. If it was a spider, she may need antibiotics, snake...antivenom, bee...epinephrin. See a pro, don't wait on answers here.

it sounds like a mozzie bite. Tell her to take an anti histamine tablet and that should bring the swelling down. Or she could just leave it and it will go away in time.

NO. Do you know what bit her? Is she feeling bad, headachey, feverish? Is there pain? Best thing, call the doctor right now. He or she will have an answering service if you call off-hours and tell you what to do.

I bet they are red ants mum has probably got a allergic reaction to them best go to the chemist they will give her a anti histamine tablets or cream.
