I can speak only for myself. I believe that if god existed, there would be no reason for religious instruction because we all would have been born with the instinctual knowledge of god's existence. the mere fact that there are hundreds of religions on this planet each claiming to be the correct one means to me that none of them are.
No one knows how the universe came about, or, for that ,matter, what the universe really is - or if there is anything beyond that. Religion requires blind faith and obedience, and it is based on nothing more that myth.

I'm not sure what kind of religious mold I fit in. I don't believe in a god, the devil, heaven or hell. I believe these are man-made contrivances designed to get people to obey through fear. I don't believe in the bible because there are too many versions.
For example: NI New International Version, NAS New American Standard Version, NKJ New King James Version, RS Revised Standard Version, NRS New Revised Standard Version, LB The Living Bible, and NC New Century Version. And these are only the seven most popular according to most web sites. If you don't find what you want in any of these versions, there's a whole lot more to choose from.
I find it difficult to believe that "the truth" as supposedly spoken by god can be interpreted in so many different ways. It's almost like people are saying, "I don't like what it says in this bible so I'm going to make up my own version."
I believe that people are individuals and that each person should be allowed to practice whatever religious belief is "comfortable". And the practice of that religious belief should be without scorn, ridicule or hatred from others who don't share those same beliefs. If a person wants to believe in a god, a tree, a snail or in nothing at all, so be it. As long as that belief makes you a better person, and you treat me with respect, I'll respect you right back.
That's what I believe. Where am I wrong in my thinking?

I am not an athesist by I will tell you the concept.
They do not belief there is a god at all.
My mother is what is called an agnostic. It is different. She does not know either way.
She puts is this way she has no proof of god, but she feels that if all these people have believed in a god for years all over the world she cannot say there is not a god. She is undecided.
I feel this way about myself. I have decided to think of myself as a home christian. I believe that Jesus has a correct way and that god is a loving god, but that organized religion and church corrupt the meaning of what it is to be christ like. I am just trying to live a good christian life myself. I do not want to be with hypocrites people who steal money or allow molestation of children.

Agnostic here, but close enough, right? First of all, there are no "beliefs" for atheists. They just are as sure there is no God as a Theist is sure that there is. This is generally based on the scientific evidence of evolution and the big bang. These theories show quite clearly that the universe is capable of existing with out a Creator. Secondly, when you apply the stories of the bible to a modern world, it just doesn't hold up. It reads like something a group of men wrote a long long time ago and wanted you to believe that it was the word of God. Unfortunately, they have zero proof to back it up.

I at one time believed in god and believe it was only because I was born into it, I would have loved to have had a choice, but now I know it was part of my journey in my human experience. A spirit inhabiting a body eventually at some point wants to know its true origin, similar to a kid wanting to know if santa is real or not and begins to question or figures it out for themselves. Religion for some at a point does not cut the mustard for an advancing spirit. The god idea simply does not make logical sense those who begin to question and that's part of the game. There is no right and wrong in what you believe its a matter of comfort, if you feel what you believe is real then go with it, if not then have the courage to question and look at other options, and let your gut be your guide.

I do not believe in God, satan heaven or hell. It does not matter to me whether or not others believe in god or not. I think belief in a god is a tool that alot of people use to find acceptance for the way the world is. It is not for me. When I die i believe that I will just be worm food. I am ok with that.

Good question. The answer is, for me at least, that there is a higher being, but I choose not to follow any of the so called religions or any denominations there of. I believe that religion is false and man made. I explain it to most people as being spiritual, but not religious.

We believe in science. The idea of god, jesus, heaven ,hell, an afterlife is for people of compromised intelligence. It is as ridiculous as the easter bunny or santa. Evolution is the ONLY reasonable explanation for human existence, and scientifically proven. When was the last time someone PROVED god to you?

That the notion of God is unnecessary to live in peace and happiness. I feel no need to hang a more or less human face on the mysteries of the universe.

Atheists don't believe anything. It's not a religion, it's a lack of religion that makes someone an atheist.
a = not
theist = believer that god exists
