He actually can stop starvation and hunger and war, right? He's probably the only One who could stop it, right? But He doesn't because He doesn't want to, right?

That free will-thingy is by far the most lame excuse i have ever heared from any Supernatural Being!

Let's say that there is a god, and that s/he has given us free will, and chooses not to interfere with that free will. The question is then, why?

Could it be that human beings are prefectly capable of preventing hunger and war by their own actions, but choose not to? Because if humans really wanted peace, or wanted to end starvation, or a good percentage of the diseaese in the Third World, they have the resources to do all those things.

And some supernatural father-figure stepping in an solving them for us would accomplish nothing at all. Any more than a parent trying to "solve" the conflicts between siblings solves anything....

Use your free will to stop attacking religion -- a pointless activity, since I have yet to meet anyone who was really convinced by these pointless discussions either way -- and start trying to make the world a better place.

If an omniscient, omnipotent God exists, then there can be no free will. People, having supposedly been created in the image of God, make decisions based on reason, and those reasons are largely formed by past experience. God knows when creating you, based on where and when you are created, what experiences you will have and how you will respond to various events throughout your life. Therefore every decision that you will ever make has essentially been pre-determined. Similarly, if each person has a soul which governs their behavior, that soul was created by God knowing how it would respond based on when/where it was put on Earth. Essentially God determines the course a persons life will take before they are ever born. In fact, this used to be the predominant theory among christians in America during the colonial era. It was widely believed that only those who were chosen would go to Heaven and everyone else would go to Hell, everything was believed to be predetermined. As one can imagine this was not a very appealing idea,so religious leaders changed their views, again, to make religion seem more attractive to the masses by saying that anyone could be saved.

A God who cannot be taught, unable to laugh, and unable to cry.

Christian God must like the world of starvation, hunger and war because the Bible even says he is immortal God.

1 Corinthians 15:21
For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.

Philippians 3:20-21
20For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Why doesn't mankind share their abundance with others who are less fortunate? Why can't leaders sit down and work on compromises?
Why don't we all not go on any more vacations or buy the latest fads --- donate all that money to buy food(or other needed supplies) for the starving masses ---we'd wipe out starvation --- trouble is folks want to talk about the problems --- they don't want to have to sacrifice any of their comforts to end starvation or poverty .......
And Mary wasn't raped - she submitted to the conception --- read the bible and find that out for yourself instead of making a bad posting....

God has given us free will and given us the clear commands to make it clear what is right and what is wrong. God will not interferre if you chose to take the wrong prohibited path because of free will. It would not be the free will if God start interferring in all day today deeds.

You need to study more on different subjects to gain knowledge and wisdom.

Yes freewill is correct, would you rather be a controlled robot? When Jesus comes to earth for a thousand years to live with us after the 7 year tribulation, it will be like what God had in mind for us before sin entered in.

Yes, freewill does seem to suck some times, but just imagine how you would be without it, oh wait, there would be no wars and such.

Well he did rape Mary, who was Joseph's wife. That is a sin to covet the neighbors wife.
