reinstall the drivers that came with it, use the cd that came with the card, usually you have to reinstall all extra software for periphials.

If you mean that you have re-installed windows then you will have to re-install the drivers for the sound card.
You can either use the disk supplied with the soundcard or if it's a supported soundcard you can tell windows to look for it by clicking on start-control panel-add hardware and use the wizard to find the sound card drivers and most likely other stuff that needs setting up also.

I had exactly the same problem a few weeks back. you could go onto the website of who makes your computer and see if they have the drivers on there. if not you will have to have a look on your sound card in the com and it will tell you the model and the make then go onto there website and download the drivers for it. Thats what I did anyways and it worked. Hope this helps

What kind of soundcard do you have? You need to install the drivers especially because the default Windows drivers usually don't cover the soundcards. If the soundcard came with a CD, use that to install the driver. Otherwise check website for your soundcard and/or computer manufacturer and see if they have a driver. If all else fails, contact their customer support.

If you have internet service, go to the sound card manufacturer's website and look for the Support or Download Drivers area and see if therer are any drivers still available, If not, try this site:
http://www.pcdrivers.com/sound.htm. If you know the manufacturer of the sound card, look for a zip file and download it to your desktop and try installing it from there.

If you dont have the drivers (but are using XP) you can go to your control panel, choose add hardware and let XP do a search for anything attached but not installed.
Failing that you can pull your card out of its slot (whilst PC is off of course!) and have a look at what kind it is then do a search online for it. Make sure you re-sit it properly

It would help if you told us the name of the PC , EG: Ifriend , Dell xxx or whatever .
for example if its a dell , go to Dell.com / or .co.uk and look up in the support area for your model of computer , and download the software
If this PC was custom built for you you will have to take out the sound card and see what make it is ......all hardware has a serial number on it ...i have found that typing this number into a search engine usually brings up some details of what it is .
hope this helps
