A number of years ago I was in school for Aviation Mechanics and there were a total of 3 girls in the whole school. Just letting you know there are female mechanics just not a lot of them. Good luck in your school and hope you are able to find another female to chat with.

I did an apprenticeship as a mechanic many years ago and am a hobby pilot (though not allowed to do much on a plane)
you'll have fun working on aircraft engines, much more straight-forward then cars!

The only women I know in Aviation Maintenance is in the Avionics Department. It's a lot less dirty which seems to be a plus for girls! lol
