If you don't have a grill, then get a grill pan. It's like a regular skillet with raised ridges in it that you can rest the meat on. This way the meat is elevated from the bottom of the pan. You can then "grill" your dogs on the stove top, even having those wonderful grill marks on them.
Alternate method that I have used. Use a vegetable steamer. Take a saucepan, pour in a little water (you don't want the water to touch the steamer), insert vegetable steamer, place dogs in steamer, cover and cook until done. Very nice this way, reminds me of those you get at a baseball game.
Good luck and good eating.

Camp fire!! Stick a dog on a stick and flame it till its done...nothing compares not even a grill!! But I would have to say boiling them is better than the microwave, better yet in the house slice the middle open and put a slice of cheddar cheese in the crack and broil them in the oven!!

I hate to say it but both methods (boiling or microwave) come out almost the same. I give a slight edge to the boiling method because the taste makes you feel like you're at the baseball game! You can also broil them if you have an indoor gas or electric oven.

I put a hot dog in the bun and then wrap it in a paper towel. I microwave it for 45 seconds. It comes out great.
The time depends on the microwave. Some microwave it for 1 minute, but for me, 1 minute splits the hot dog, and makes the bun hard.
But, best of all is grilling by far.

Hot dogs are already cooked when you buy them, so any method of heating them up will work.
Personally, I prefer a grill, though I don't have one.

Score them both ways and put them on an indoor or outdoor grill. That's the best.

I prefer boiling to the microwave, because they don't split as much in the pot. They really are better on the barbecue, however.
