You'll be alright. Once you get to college you will be surrounded by many people and make new friends. This will be your life for the next 4 years and you will adjust just fine. Your parents will miss you and it'll give them somewhere to go for visits and they will anxiously await for you to come home during the holidays and breaks. Truth be told, they will take this harder than you. Laugh and give them your new address and tell them they do know they can send care packages. You're getting on with your life which is what you're suppose to do.

Look at it as a big adventure. It's such an exciting, albeit scary time. For the first time in your life you can truly be independent with no one telling you what to do! Get involved in activities you like and make new friends. Stay in touch with old friends and family via computer, mail, phone, etc., but try not to get too homesick. And remember, a lot of people on campus are going through the same things you are. Have fun!

If you get involved with activities at school you will make freinds fairly quickly. This really helps when you feel lonley. The activities get you out there to do this. It's part of growing up, besides the anxiety about leaving know that your parents will have it also, no point in upsetting the situation anymore. Accept the beginning of a new life that is all about change and adventure. You will find that there is more about it that you like than dislike.

just say to yourself you are an adult and you can do this. you should have thought about that before you decided to move away. if your not ready, stay home for the first year and go to a near by college. maybe you will be ready to move on next year. 2 new things at once. college and moving away might seem scary, so think about the option i wrote (e-mailed).

think about all the great opportunities you have. finally becoming independent, starting your own life, meeting new people, figuring out what you want to do with your life. it should be exciting. you can always call and visit home. theyre not going anywhere so you always have them. join clubs to meet new people. find people that are interested in the same thing you are. there a lot of things you can do. pretty soon you won't be homesick.

Make sure you have the Lord with you and then you will find family members wherever you go.
Hebrews 2:11 Jesus and the people he makes holy all belong to the same family. That is why he isn't ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters.
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."

You need to read the books by H. Jackson Brown. His books are great.
They are called "Life's Little Instruction Book". He wrote it for his son who was leaving for college.
Oh yeah and stay away from the party crowd.
