The best definition of a cult is the psychological definition. The psychological definition of a cult is a physically and mentally harmful and unorthodox religion that discourages interaction with non-members and encourages strong devotion to the leadership at all costs.
That definition can describe churches as small as the Fundimentalist Adventists (A small splinter adventist group) to medium sized faiths like the Jehovah's Witnesses and Latter Day Saints to large churches like the Muslim faith.
A cult isn't a Christian religion that's non-trinitarian. In that case, the Unitarian Church is a cult.
A cult isn't a Christian religion that has extrabiblical publications. If that was the case, you would have to burn all of your Left Behind novels.
A cult is simply a religion that begs for excessive and unquestioning devotion, is harmfully devient and causes psychological, emotional or physical harmful to a person and discourages association with non members.

Happiness and delight surely require attempt, war, and SACRIFICE. would not rely how lengthy you've been married. once you have not positioned an attempt into some thing it truly is under no circumstances satisfying and would not reason you happiness lengthy time period. you'll purely be at liberty in case you position attempt into your courting each day, and in case you discover someone who does a similar. regrettably our society is rotten with ENTITLEMENT and LAZINESS, pretty in relationships. those are the properly ideal enemies of delight and happiness. The very theory of 'luckily ever after" smacks of entitlement. In different words numerous women believe that when marriage takes position the game is over and they are now entitled to love and dedication without attempt. Marriage is neither a assure of safe practices nor does it recommend you should end operating and sacrificing on your courting a similar way you probably did earlier marriage.

Yes. It's called the Catholic church. Even my older sisters (63 and 60), who are devout Catholics, acknowledge it is a cult. The only way me, my younger brother and sister escaped the majority of the brainwashing is that my eldest sister begged my parents on her hands and knees to not send us to the parochial school. That was 1958. I am grateful to her for intervening. I was brainwashed, but not to the extent my older sisters were.

First of all, Seventh-Day Adventism IS NOT a cult. Second, this church FAILS the test of a cult.
I should know, I belong to this church. I assure you, we DO NOT coerce, force, "brain-wash", etc. anyone into our beliefs. I recognized certain inconsistencies in the Catholic and Protestant churches and found my way to this church.
As far as our doctrines, I would recommend studying them in prayer before calling us a cult!!!

Any "cult" is wrong,no matter what the label.People want power & will pervert anything to get it.If you decide to become a Christian read the Bible yourself & you don't have to worry about being brainwashed!
