FSM = Flying Spaghetti Monster.
In response to a school board were it was proposed to insist that intelligent design was taught, a chap called Bobby Henderson wrote to demand that his personal deity - the FSM - should also be taught since there was as much evidence for the FSM as there is for so-called intelligent design.
He also propounds the theory that Global Warming has been caused by the decline in the number of pirates in the world.
What was originally a joke at the expense of the Kansas school board as mushroomed into ... well, see for yourself.

Someone sickened by a school board trying to get Intelligent Design taught as science came up with an alternative cosmology, claiming the universe was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

PS: I respectfully beg to differ with one of the answers (just below mine?): He claims he has MORE evidence of the FSM than the Intelligent Design people do, as he actually explains the findings of scientists.

And FYI for those who think the FSM is silly: It has the exact same amount of proof as any other divinity out there. If you think the FSM is silly then whatever deity you believe in is equally silly. You may want to consider that.

i only got on the internet for good in 2001. this kind of thing really annoyed me. there are really insensative people out there. i'm afraid they meant: bad.
i don't feel comfortortable writing it out, but i'm sure someone else did. i didn't even know that L..OL. was an abbrieviation for laugh out loud. i got a link to an online rigamoro dictionaries, took one look, ; and decided on english. good luck.
i have to admit, i feel left out, because all the kids have computers now in school and i didn't have any and so am left to fend for myself, other than be left behind. i think this is a problem that needs to be addressed in today's society.
