What do you think happens when you die? ive been thinking lately and need another opinion.?

I lost my mum at the end of january and have lost faith in a higher power. im curious to see what others think because im not religious and i believe that religion was invented to take away the thought of nothingness. i believe the white light is when you die with your eyes open and there is light in your eyes that would go away as they lose function. im open to answers from both religious and non-religious people.

You are on the right track. Use reason instead of emotion (where most people go) to decide. When someone tells you that you need to simply believe what they believe and all will be well you will know that they are guided by emotion.

I lost my brother in February in a car accident so this is a subject close to my heart too. I believe that being dead is similar to before you were born or in a deep sleep, simply being aware of nothing. I do believe tho that there is a hope for life in the future for our dead loved ones, here on Earth.
I believe the white light that you see while dying is due to lack of oxygen in the brain and is simply the brain closing down.
Please dont blame God for this, the bible clearly tells us that the devil is the ruler of the world at this present time. 1john 5:19

To be totally honest with you, I am a bit torn too.. I am religious, but I suppose that because there is no (scientific) evidence, I am a little skeptical. I can't remember the name of the book, but my boyfriend told me that he heard about a book where either the author or a person the author interviews was actually "legally dead" for a few minutes. The person talks all about their experience, etc. etc. You might want to go to Barnes and Noble and see if they could find it for you. Good luck!

you go to heaven or hell based on if you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I am very sorry you lost your mom but that does not discredit the fact there is a higher power- God. The bad things out there and evil back up the fact there is a God. The fact that your mom died was not God's fault, but Satan. He is the one that tries to ruin your life and mine and everyones'. Jesus Christ is the person who loves us and gave his life for all of us. Because of the things that we have done that are wrong, the sins we have commited we cannot go to heaven. Jesus did die and pay the price however so if we have faith in him and believe he died on the cross and rose again we will have eternal life and go to heaven. I am not afraid of death. I know that if i die i will go to heaven today because i put my faith in Jesus Christ and am a Christian. Are you 100% sure u would go to heaven if you died?

Eternal Life in Eternity -

In the height of heaven (Job 22:12), in the third heaven (2 Cor.12:2) God inhabits eternity (Isa.57:15) and dwells in Zion (Joel 3:21, Ps.23:6), the city of the living God (Heb.12:22).

Christ chose us (the church of God – 1 Cor.10:32) before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love (Eph.1:4): and He gave those He chose eternal life (Jn.10:28-29, Jn.3:36, Jn.17:2).

Having been given eternal life, we in Christ Jesus are passed from death unto life (Jn.5:24), never to die, to live with God in Eternity (Isa.57:15), in His kingdom (Dan.7:18, Dan.7:22), an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled that does not fade away (1 Pe.1:3-4).

We are of the household of God (Eph.2:19).

To be perfectly honest, I don't know. I'd like to believe that we might see our loved ones again.
I cannot explain why people who we might want and need in our lives have to die.
Deep inside of me, perhaps in my soul, I lean toward hoping that there is a higher power. I certainly don't envision an old white man with his white son and all their saints sitting in heaven waiting to judge me.
Any way, I am sorry for your loss. I know you must miss her. I did when my Mom died. That was over 20 years ago and I still think of her. I like to remember the things in which she derived pleasure, like her favorite flowers in her garden.

i think we all go back to the source that spawned our existance and that source is the same; and apparently that source is life and we continue to live.
our biological bodies die, but we go on.

think of it that god is a point. there are axels going out from that point. they go on the paraemeter and make a wheel. each of our individual selves are points on the outside of that wheel , really one with that point in the center; and are out to discover, like our god told us to. we discover(aquire knowlage and are processed) and move on to the next step. of course for a species that seeks to know there can be no end until the entire universe is known, which appears to be unknowable. this allows a lot of time for error for a biological entity that can't even use a 10th of it's brain to catch up.

i think that u go to heaven.. or an afterlife. b/c my dog (faith rip)m died and ya.. so ur mom is wating for u when u die, watching over u right now. When u die u go to heaven, feel no pain nothing. I have trouble beliving that but i belive for all the people that i no that have died

dust you are and dust you will return. when you die you go to sleep, do more pain or sorrow. your love and your hate dies with you. I am so sorry about your mother. I lost my husband two years ago. it is very hard. don't take it out of Jehovah God. blame the devil. because of him Adam and Eve listened and now we are born into sin.
