I have to disagree with your premise. First, I think it's a great victory for Floyd and his Phonak teammates and sponsors. Second, I think it's terrific that another American won. Still, while I would have been disappointed for Floyd had he not been able to recover from his Stage 16 disaster and win, I would have been glad for Oscar Pereiro or any rider that might have won. Winning the Tour de France is an amazing accomplishment. Floyd's story is very compelling to us Americans in particular because of his country of origin, but his background and his ability to ride and win with a degenerating hip bone make him an appealing champion to fair-minded people everywhere.

Yes it is a sweet victory that Landis won the Tour de France for the United States of America,

If you ask me, i think we got ourselves another Lance Armstrong on our hands...that's not such a bad thing to talk about.

Not really. We only cared about the Tour De France recently because Lance Armstrong won 7 times in a row. Same thing this year.

it truly is fairly pathetic to knock only Landis. He were given stuck. all of them do it- in each and every sport. it truly is a rely of no matter if he took an unlawful substance. professional athletes in very nearly each and every sport takes some thing. it truly is a rely of no matter if it truly is a banned substance. they have get entry to to it earlier it might want to be even deemed unlawful. If a professional bike proprietor took a drug that wasn't on the record, then their moves are not unlawful. no matter if Floyd did is all and sundry's wager. issues only seem quite bleak for him- which means that motorbike keep sales will plummet by using "posers" that experience street motorcycles because of Lance will end procuring if an American seems no longer to be the winner. i'm no longer holier than thou, yet what number of human beings keep in mind Greg Lemond- the first American to win The excursion decrease back interior the eighty's? He gained it some cases. An american triumphing The excursion?!! The French were furious even as he gained. even as he did no longer have a bout with maximum cancers, he changed into shot in a searching twist of destiny and got here decrease back to win The excursion lower back. those clipless pedals we are all using on were invented by using seem and established raced on by using Greg. This guy changed into my idol as a teenager win I used to race interior the Juniors. enable's desire that Floyd prevails. If he would not, hopefully Levi Leipheimer can marvel each and every person and take his astounding understanding to the rostrum next twelve months. also, Floyd isn't old. compared to different events, the perfect cyclists are often of their 30's.
