Allow the water to come back to a boil and then cook the corn for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on desired tenderness.

Do NOT add salt to the water when cooking sweet corn because the salt will toughen the corn. Add a little sugar to the water to boost the flavor.

My favorite fresh corn on the cob is Silver Queen... or any white variety.

Let the water come to a complete boil FIRST then boil ten minutes, but if you have fresh sweet corn from the field, you do not have to add anything. But if you get corn from the store then add a little sugar.

My family has a farm and one of their biggest crops is corn, both sweet and field.

Depending on how many ears you are preparing - if it is just enough for dinner, I either steam for 15 minutes counting from when water is at full boil or if I'm in a hurry, I put the ears in the Microwave for 8 minutes.

Soak it in water, then grill it outside for about 20 minutes.

Soak it in water, then microwave it for about 10-15 minutes.

Dog's don't digest corn very well, and that's one of the reasons why people suggest that you should feed a dog food that doesn't contain corn. So, while corn isn't toxic to a dog, if you decide to feed it, you'll seeing corn in his poop tomorrow. I wouldn't do it.
