I agree that America undervalues the contribution to our economy that undocumented workers have. I think it's a stupid knee-jerk reaction to the irrational fear that terrorists are going to invade from Mexico. The Canadian border is much more porous and easily crossed by terrorists. I personally believe it is a form of discrimination when people demand a tighter border control with Mexico and don't care if there is ANY border control with Canada.
All this aside... If you are an undocumented worker and you abide by the laws here (rape, murder, drugs, etc... not immigration laws) I don't see why anyone should have issue to complain. All the studies show that in most areas in the U.S. all those who WANT to work are working. There's no stealing of jobs going on here. Wonder if that's true? Ask a welfare recipient if they want any job an undocumented worker has... bet they turn it down because they make more $$$ on welfare and they don't have to work in unsanitary, uncomfortable or otherwise "harsh" conditions.

You came here, illegally. What other laws might you break? Obviously, from your statement, you are also rude. You are not a nice person, and we don't need your kind, here.
No, we are not going to shut up. We have had our liberties and freedoms for over 200 years, and we have earned them. Because our rights are enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, we know to to speak up when someone attempts to take these rights away from us.
If there are so many of you marching, why didn't you do this in Mexico City and change the situation there, or were you afraid that the Mexican police would arrest and/or shoot you? Why didn't you disrupt your country instead of ours?
Like any other country, the United States has laws for immigration. You can apply, from home, by filling out the documents and being accepted, legally, just like other immigrants around the world have done.
For a country to operate efficiently, it needs to know how many citizens it has, where they are located, and what jobs they do. To do this the government requires an accurate census. Then it knows how much to tax its citizenry in order to pay for health, education, welfare and infrastructure. By avoiding the tax laws, you destroy this efficient system and put the entire population at jeopardy. You can't have millions of people coming in illegally and not contributing to a stable form of government. If the few must pay for the illegal many, we will all, in the end, suffer.
Do you have any idea how much the medical and educational costs are to support your family? You guys have nearly bankrupted several counties. Who do you think pays taxes for your care? We do!
How do you know that we won't do these jobs? What are your statistics? Whom do you think did it before you sneaked in?
If you want to be with us, then come in, legally, just like our ancestors did. They paid the price for settling this country, so can you. Of course, if you are going to be an unkind person, and tell us to "shut up," Then we will definitely leave you alone, in Mexico.
I wish people would stop comparing Canadians to Mexicans. 12 million Canadians have not come into the US, illegally. It is not full of terrorists! They caught their terrorists and put them in jail. Our Canadian friends respect due process of the law, just like we do. Both countries operate on a similar system of government that came from England.

I feel if you want to stay here and work, you should become a citizen...or at the least, get a VISA so you can work here legally. I live in the Reno, Nevada area. And every summer we have thousands of polish people (in this area alone!) that come here to work on a 3 month VISA. I don't mind that...but the fact that they have 10+ people staying in a 1 room motel that costs $150 a week, they each work 2 FULL-TIME jobs and they don't have to pay taxes!!! If they want to work here for a few months, legally with a VISA, fine. But they should be allowed ONE job. They should not be allowed to have more than 3 people per room (they can afford to pay for one room between 3 people). And, they SHOULD have to pay some sort of a tax for the money they make. They should also have to claim what they make in tips. I know when I was a casino manager, all my employees had to claim what they made, then a portion was taken out for taxes. If you think about it, it's completely taking money away from our community...not to mention our entire country. So, if you want to work here illegally and not pay taxes...go right ahead! We WILL find you eventually and you will be deported. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Every country wants to stop illegal immigration. They wouldn't be a country if they didn't want to control their borders. It is true that there are a lot of ignorant Americans who dislike you just because you are Latino, or Middle Eastern, or Indian, etc. But, it is perfectly normal and correct to be concerned about people living illegally in your country. My husband is not a US citizen and we do not live in the US. When we move there, we will have to go through legal channels. Why can't you do the same? (By the way, my husband is African. He will probably have a more difficult time than you would.)
Believe me, if there weren't so many illegals in the US, immigration would be a lot easier because, you are right, there are lots of jobs that current citizens don't want to take. We would have to be more lenient so that we could fill those positions. This is what is going on in Canada now. Suddenly, it has become a lot easier to immigrate to Canada because they have very little unemployment and need people to take jobs. You are doing yourself a disservice to work illegally. You make it easy for people to take advantage of you. If you were legal, they wouldn't have that option, and they would have to pay you at least minimum wage, plus, you would be eligible for programs for citizens and legal residents. As it is, why should they hire a citizen when they can hire you at slave wages?

I've answered a question similar to this before.
I lived in AZ for 20 years, and also work in the healthcare system.
They drain Medicaid, hospital ER's, and our Food Stamp programs dry. Americans cannot get this help. It is automatically given to them. That is the reason they come here-it's not for the jobs. They get free handouts.
Medicaid has quit using picture ID's, so fraud is rampant for Mexican women having children. They use each others' cards in hospitals for child birth. The American taxpayer is paying for this.
Also, they come over here as illegals and believe they have rights. The Bush administration has allowed them to believe this.
Where else can we have as many illegals as we do in this country and they can go out into the streets and protest?
Republicans only want the vote.
They use the hospital ER as an Urgent Care Clinic because the jobs they DO get here do not provide health insurance. Guess who pays for that?
I think we should hold the Mexican govt. responsible for building their economy so these people do not want to come here.
I can't understand, actually, why there are NOT enough jobs in Mexico with all of the US companies that have already gone there.

Yeah, well I don't care if you are here the legal way but if your illegal go home. You are hurting our economy more than you are helping it. I want my friend to get his citizenship that he has been trying to get for 5 years now but he can't because we are overrun with illegals. I know the process is long and hard but it's the right way to do it.
Americans are not closed minded. You can come here all you want so long as it's the legal way.
What does the Mexican government do to illegals they find in their country? Maybe we should start doing that to the Mexican illegals in America! You wouldn't like that now would you.
As far as Americans learning to shut up and leave you alone. Get the F out of MY Country, go back to your own and then I will shut up about you.

1st, to LolaP Yes immigrants came here through Ellis Island and they went through a process just like we are asking any other immigrant to do. Next.....No we don't just kill them, We always have a good reason. So if you don't like it , go back to wherever you breed from.I mean came from...SORRY. why are you here ? Is your country not satisfactory to you? I am here and not there! i am proud to be an American citizen and if I would have been born any where else I would be there trying to make it better, and not moving to some one else's country and bitc**ng about it. Read this.............................................
Ellis Island was incorporated as part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument on May 11, 1965. Between 1892 and 1954, approximately 12 million steerage and third class steamship passengers, who entered the United States through the port of New York, were legally and medically inspected at Ellis Island. Reopened on September 10, 1990 after a massive restoration, the Main Building on Ellis Island is now a museum dedicated to the history of immigration and the important role this island claimed during the mass migration of humanity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Notice how it says LEGALLY and MEDICALLY inspected.Just like cattle, hey we have enough diseases here

The average American cannot think for themselves. They mimmick the words they hear from their preachers and political puppets, for the most part.
I know many unregistered aliens and the majority are very good people. It saddens me to think our government will travel to the other side of the world to "overthrow a corrupt government" and let Mexico operate in such a horrible manner.
We simply need to quit sending our troops to countries that DON'T want our help and clean up our own hemisphere. I would much rather see my grandson go to fight for Mexico's liberty than Iraq's or any other middle eastern nation.
If we were able to clean up Mexico's corrupt government, the citizen's of Mexico would be able to stay home with their families ( which is what most of my friends would rather do than come here in the first place).

Americans believe in myths, they don't botherto see the
facts.
Unfortunately they don't realize that without cheap workers(slaves) their economy will collapse.Every society needs a renewing force and that's usually the very ambitious and hard working immigrants. They start from the ground level and rise up.
Let those oranges rot in Florida, let the orange prices rise, that's just the start of all troubles for xenophobic USA.

Coming here to work or have a better life is not a reason to come here.
Laws are more important than jobs.
Coming here to be an American is a good start.
Coming here to cost Americans money, land and other things makes it our business.
We will NEVER leave you alone get used to it, there's nothing you can do about it!!
