I have used this program for a few years now. It is totally free for private use and has kept my system clean since I installed it. The newest version can be found at this link - http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10543927.html?tag=lst-0-5. The user interface and complete operation and installation/usage is really simple. It has an added bonus of being not nearly as intrusive or memory hungry as Norton or any of the bigger AV programs. Admittedly it does not have all the whistles and bells but it will do what it says on the tin and keep your system virus free.

I used to recommend Adaware, then it was Spyware Nuker (I still love the guys that wrote that software), but today, I can't recommend anything other that Microsoft Windows Defender.

Microsoft released this software about a year ago and called it the Anti-Spyware Beta. It has recently changed names to Windows Defender. It's free, although I've heard rumors that they might start charging for it at some point.

You can download it here...

It's in it's 2nd beta and is rock solid stable. It works very well. I haven't had a spyware infection problem since I've been running it.

You could also try here. One of my Spyware Article Sites...

You`ve pretty much covered it there.
I use Yahoo`s antispyware download too - keep an eye out for cover discs on PC mags they`re usually one of my sources and many are freeware now as opposed to shareware and can be easily updated online like AVG and Zone Alarm (incidentally that`s how I began using both these programs)

Your anti-virus and firewall are good. Be sure to update your anti-virus at least once a week and then run it. I use multiple anti-spyware programs, including Ad-aware and Spybot (both are free).

Go to this site:

Well as far as antivirus and firewalls, you may as well as stick with AVG and Zonealarm. Another good combination is Avast and Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall.
Ewido is excellent; you could back it up with Spybot Search & Destroy
- http://www.filehippo.com/download_spybot_search_destroy/
and Spywareblaster
- http://www.filehippo.com/download_spywareblaster/
Spywareguard
- http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html

There are other free antispyware tools you could use for a second opinion such as Superantispyware
- http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Super-Anti-Spyware/SuperAntiSpyware.html
or AdAware
- http://www.filehippo.com/download_ad-aware/
or A Squared Free
- http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
or Spycatcher Express
- http://www.tenebril.com/consumer/spyware/spycatcher-express.php
just watch out for conflicts and false positives and the tendency to get paranoid about spyware and viruses.

You could also use free antiphishing tools that warn you about spyware-ridden websites such as the Netcraft Toolbar or McAfee Site Advisor

Norton is rubbish it slows your computer down really bad and doesn't tell you when anything is detected avg is good and if you keep updating it remains free
