In the winter you want to buy food that you can bake in the oven, it helps keep your place warmer and the smell is pleasant too.
Acorn squash, roasts, stews, baked bread, cakes, pies, cookies,
hot chocolate, coffee.
Any holiday food is good, turkey, yams, stuffings.

I go crazy for apple pie in fall, and of course hot coco and (maybe this is wierd) Clemintines/tangerines in winter.
