After about an hour of use it shuts it's self off, and the only way to turn it back on is to un plug the unit from the outlet, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in. It will fire right back up, but do it all again in about an hour. Does anybody know what can be wrong? Am I doing further damage by continuing to use the TV while this problem persists? If this has happened to you, please share with me anything you have found out. Thanks in advance!

Hello. I'm a television repairman. You aren't doing anything wrong. And you're not hurting the television. If the tv is under a year old, apex will cover the cost of the parts. If not, you're going to have to dish out the cost yourself. At any rate, the problem is, you need a new mainboard. Could be something as drastic as the memory on the mainboard, or as simple as a bad cap. The other issue that might be wrong, is that you simply have a bad transformer. Either way, the easiest thing to do is get a new mainboard. Dependant on the model number, and year, the part can cost anywhere from 50 to 150 dollars. Hope this helps.
