My lower right back hurts when I run or lay down on my left side. It started to hurt 3 months ago when I was doing squats at the gym. I tryed icing it and laying down in hot water, but it only relieves the pain termporarly. I don't know whats wrong with it, I thought it would heal but the pain keeps comming back.

It sounds like a pulled muscle, but you said this happened 3 months ago?! I would think that a pulled muscle would have healed by now, so how about another suggestion?

If you've gone to a doctor/physical therapist without success, why don't you try seeing a chiropractor?

Chiropractic is founded in the belief that the Central Nervous System (the brain, spinal cord, and nerves) controls EVERY bodily function. When the spinal bones (called vertebrae) are misaligned, they can pinch the nerves that run out between them and cause pain, numbness/tingling, or any type of general malfunction to that nerve's corresponding body part. Heavy lifting, awkward bending, trauma, or bad posture can all pull the vertebrae out of alignment.

Herniated disks also place this kind of pressure on the nerves, which can be very painful. Chiropractic works to remove this nerve interference by restoring the spine back to its proper position.

Chiropractic care is a safe, non-invasive healthcare option that doesn't involve the use of drugs that could potentially have unwanted side effects. If you do decide to see a chiropractor, ask family and friends for recommendations, visit a few offices, and choose the doctor that you are most comfortable with. I can't guarantee this as a definite cure, but chiropractic does have tremendous success in helping people with back pain. No matter what you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck!

Well, you should go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. The effect on the self-healing power of the body is simply amazing. The spine is set straight for the first time in your life and the muscles will become more relaxed, so the pain should slowly disappear.

It's really worth travelling far - at present, the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing around 200 Dollars. Good luck!
