My husband and I are going tomorrrow for an immigration interview for his green card. I have heard a lot of things about the interview and I am nervous. If you have been to one yourself, please let me know how it was and what questions they asked you. Thank you.

The interview for us, was rather short. They will ask questions like what year was your husband born or they will ask your husband what year you were born. How long have you been married, where do you live? Real basic questions. Every interview is different, so dont quote me on this....

They are just trying to determine it is a legitimate marriage. Don't be nervous, its pretty painless, just be calm and answer the questions to the best of your ability....Good luck and you will be just fine...

I've haven't applied for a visa for my husband yet because we still live abroad. However, a friend of mine had to go to her interview. She is Chinese, married to an American. They still live here in China and because there are so many Chinese married to Americans and so many who apply for visas, the interviewers get really cynical and assume all marriages are for immigration purposes only. They are very hard in the interviews. The guy was really giving my friend a hard time until she pulled out a stack of old emails her husband had sent her since they had been dating. That pretty much ended the interview and she got her visa. If you have cards sent to the both of you or pictures from trips you have taken, etc., whatever, bring them with you. I've been saving anything my parents and family send me that is addressed to the two of us.

Good luck!

I propose getting a lawyer who focuses on immigration regulation. i trust the interviewer replaced into being puzzling. I easily have generic those who went for those and it purely took about quarter-hour for them to be approved, granted they'd lawyer's with them.

If you has a legal union you'll be O.K. they ask simple questions that you can answer if you really live with this person, What you have for breakfast two days ago, who chose the color of the car , you get the idea... They see how you treat each other,Do you behave like a real married couple? that is what they look for

It really is no big deal .. if you can, bring a few photos of the pair of you together ... a bank statement if you have joint accounts ... a utility bill with both names on it or something ... what they really want to see is if you are married for love or convenience, if you follow my drift ...
