how do they attach the over head electricty cables between each pylon?
My reason for this question is that on the A3 near the Painshill park exit (Cobham), a huge amount of scaffolding has been erected on both sides of the road. Could this have something to do with replacing the overhead cables?

They will roll out the new cables using the scaffolding to hold them up till they are ready to pull them into place. The power will be re-routed when they start and they are kept in place with ceramic insulators. So you want to lay everything out first so you don't have the power out for to long. It could overload the other sections of the grid.

I feel sorry for the people who live close to these pylons they give off bad EMFs not good for your health.

i believe they attach the heavy one to the existing cable and pull it across the gap
