Recommended is 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Some say that is an old wives' tale, but it is possible to get cramps depending on how long it was from your previous meal to this one, whether or not you are hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) or if you are just dunking - or plan to train for the Olympics.

Til you get done swallowing! Then hop on in - the water's fine. I wouldn't overdo it in the pool though. ANY kind of strenuous exercise (not just swimming) after eating a large meal can cause problems like nausea and vomiting. Would you go for a run right after a big meal? Waiting for an hour has been a myth for years! With this heat wave - I think it would be healthy to cool down in the pool after eating.

It matters, if you are planing to swim laps are do heavy exersice in the pool than you might want to wait awall. If youre just ganna swime for a little and go of some slide and play catch in the pool you proubly dont have to worry. Ushly I dont wait at all and Im fine. If youre going to swim in a lake or Ocean thought you DO want to wait awhile, just in case.

Getting in the pool wouldn't be a problem. The problem would be exercising when your body is still digesting something. The blood goes to your digestive system so you would have little blood to keep the vital organs functions/working.
Don't do exercises right after eating. Wait until after digestion.

my parents always said wait an hour. so we would play games, ride bikes and play catch, to spend the half hour fast. this would make it fly by.
