God is a Spirit that knows all things and can do all things.
He answers to no-one but Himself.
He is a God of Love but also a God of wrath.
He will give you everything you need according to His good will, including Eternal Life if you accept Him.
If not, you lose all the advantages of being friends with the Only True God.

God is the omniscient, all power, creator of the universe and everything in it. He loved us all so much He gave His Son to die on the cross for us. Yes, evil does exist in the world and this world is kinda messed up, but it is because God gave everyone free will, the power to choose and people are imperfect. Religion, at least Christianity, is not about belonging to a group or something. It is about having a relationship with God. ^_^

I am a Catholic but i find it funny when someone asks this question and people answer it by resorting to their religions' lines or the Bible. Put in proper perspective, this is a philosophical question more than a religious one. "What" is asking about the property of God and not about Jesus Christ. Some fundamentalists here are so narrow-minded they can't think of God without thinking of Jesus. "What is God?" is a universal query and must be answered accordingly. Wether you are a Christian or a Muslim or whatever who believes in a God the question must be answered in a universal sense.

The names God chose for Himself say alot about Him. Redeemer. Friend. Brother. Prince of Peace. Love.
The names people choose for themselves tend to tell us a bit about them, too.

god is the good that lives in your heart, the spirit that controls your conscience,tells you the difference between right and wrong, kindness and cruelty.god is what gives you the faith to go on when times are hard,the capacity to love others above yourself, to forgive wrongs done to you,also to forgive yourself when you have done wrong.god may go by different names to different cultures , but when it comes right down to it...god is love.

God is spirit and man was made in His image, meaning, we have a spirit...
I chose to think of Him as an Entity because when you think of spirits, we tend to think of ghosts... and i dont know what a spirit is really.... He has emotions because the bible has noted times of His emotions...
