Because They're Retarded....If people would put as much energy in creating a "marriage", instead of a fantastical "fashion show" for their memory books, the United States would become a great country again!

Because people forget that after the wedding comes a marriage. All of the fairy tales we grew up with ended after the wedding with 'And they lived happily ever after...'. Marriages are hard work - VERY hard work, and people today have been ingrained with incredibly selfish ethics. Once the going get rough, they think it's OK to leave. It's so sad to see that today.

ya really dont have to spend a lot on a wedding if you know someone creative... Usually the brides parents foot the bill, i think i would ask my parents to put the same amount toward the start of your lives together, and instead, have a cheap simple wedding with a potluck dinner reception ...but then again im not one that likes a bunch of frills and thrills...

Because sometimes the uniqueness, beauty and meaning of a wedding wears off, and the actual relationship that shines through isn't so great after all.
However, going in with the idea that you only get married once, so why not is wonderful! Do it up!! :)

Self satisfaction in the world of materialism . Marriage is like take out dinner now a days the only thing is that it is too expensive . Every thing is just ready and all set , what need to be done as told by the media and those who benefits from it .

Because some people to choose to have the grandest of weddings, not realizing that you can have something just as beautiful for a fraction of the price. Its all about outdoing the last person you know who got married.

because people are stupid. small wedding with family and close friends in someones home. wait at least 10 years for the big wedding, if your still together.
