Whoa!! Wait just a minute..... the bible is supposed to be "the truth" from god himself. By admitting and even pointing out those parts of the bible you wish weren't there, isn't that just a little hypocritical? Maybe even a little blasphemous? Someone please explain!!
Because it sure sounds to me like some of you are questioning god's wisdom and perfection.

I'd have to say all of it to be honest, but I will come up with a few...
Leviticus
God gives detailed instructions for performing ritualistic animal sacrifices. such bloody rituals must be important to God, judging from the number of times that he repeats their instructions. Indeed the entire first nine chapters of Leviticus can be summarized as follows: Get an animal, kill it, sprinkle the blood around, cut the dead animal into pieces, and burn it for a "sweet savor unto the Lord." Chapters 1 - 9
Leviticus 23:12-14, 18
God gives us more instructions on killing and burning animals. I guess the first nine chapters of Leviticus wasn't enough. He says we must do this because he really likes the smell -- it is "a sweet savour unto the Lord."
Well those are fun but try this:
Numbers
Under God's direction, Moses' army defeats the Midianites. They kill all the adult males, but take the women and children captive. When Moses learns that they left some live, he angrily says: "Have you saved all the women alive? Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." So they went back and did as Moses (and presumably God) instructed, killing everyone except for the virgins. In this way they got 32,000 virgins -- Wow! (Even God gets some of the booty -- including the virgins.) 31:1-54
Proverbs is always fun:
Beating your children with a rod is a sure sign of parental love. 13:24
God made bad people for the pleasure of punishing them. 16:4
Fools are meant to be beaten. 18:6
Beat your children and don't stop just because they cry. 19:18
I better stop now. Ask me about parenting some time. Now that's a fun biblical topic!

2 Thessalonians 2:1 Â Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 Â That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Â Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Â Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
These Scriptures describe the "man of perdition" coming BEFORE the Second Coming.
I am glad that these scriptures are there!!!
The "secret rapture" quickly fails this test!!!

you know, the tower of babal incident in genesis is something that never sat well in my stomac. here you had people who were cooperating toward a common goal with their common aim within sight and then their language was confused so they couldn't understand one another. they were dispersed over the entire earth, thereby(over the long term) creating cultural insensitivity and everything related to it, to include racism and slavery. this genesis account has always irked me.
