An afro for a day? Is that even possible? Just for a day? I think you would have to commit to a lengthy period of time than just a day! More like 4 - 6 months until it grows out!
What is some white people's obsession with afros anyway? I thought all that died out by the end of the 70s.
Well, anyway, good luck with that! Hope it makes you happy. BTW, if you're still in school, be prepared to pick spitballs out of your afro on a daily basis.

An afro for a day...that might not be easy. Any chemical product that would turn your hair curly, would be semi permanent. I have extremely straight hair (native American) and have trouble even keeping any curl. One time, a friend braided my hair in tiny little braids. I wet it, let it dry in the braids and I had afro hair. It lasted until I washed it.

try this will take ages though :
get a cirby grip and wrap small thin section of hair around it and put straightners over the cirby for a couple of seconds then leave hair too cool then take it oot and u will have a really small tight sprung curl if u want ti have a frizzy affect once u have done all the hair then brush it that mite work

Your hair isn't course enough to get an afro. You can get tight spiral curls that springs out like an afro but thats really all I can tell you. Good Luck

if you want a fro for the day....
set your hair on small perm rods (just don't use perm solution unless you want a permanent fro)...
i've done this...it is time consuming, but looks really cool

I can do that naturally, unfortunately. If I don't shave my head, instant afro.

Guess you could cut it shorter, then get a very tight perm.
