I just narrated a hindi movie love story to my fiance where the boy leaves his house(as his father opposes the girl he loves) and under goes lots of hardships to marry the girl he loves. He goes through hell searching for jobs, even works as a labourer and leaves his family.Suddenly my fiance interrupted and said that dont expect all this from me,i told you from the first day.ie.my fiance gives too much love and respect to his family.
Though all this was just a casual conversation but i felt very bad.dont you think he should be like the boy in the movie?or am I over reacting?

First, you are trying to equate fiction to real life, they are not the same. I also believe your statement to be a red flag and problems waiting to happen. There is no such thing as giving your family too much love and respect, that's what a family is all about.

It sounds as though you have some very unreal expectations of life and your fiance in general. It also sounds as if you had your feelings hurt, let him know they were hurt.

ya u r over reacting to this hole thing. the movie this different the real life. ur asking too much from ur fiance just let him do what he wants for u and u should just be happy that u have someone in ur life.

That depends on your definition of ' anything'. I suggest you two get couple counseling before you marry him....you may be in a heep of hot water marrying this one. Good luck
