Do you have sheer panic attacks when you go to your doctor? When I go to the doctor I panic so bad for some reason, they check my blood pressure and it gets real high, and then goes back down when I get home. Anyone else ever experience this? or am I the only one?

Yes, it's called white coat hypertension and it's actually relatively common. I'm exactly the same, and I'm a doctor myself - when I get my BP measured by my own doctor it's high, but if I measure it myself it's fine. If your doctor is worried about it, they'll arrange for you to have 24 hour blood pressure monitoring, where you have a cuff on for 24 hours and it takes your BP every 20 minutes or so. They can then look at it and check whether you do have a real problem or if it's just due to anxiety when you go to your doctors appointment.

Definitely. The high blood pressure you're experiencing at the doctor's office is officially called "white-coat hypertension", and quite a few people experience it. They may take a second reading at the doctor's office after you've rested for a while, and see if your blood pressure reading goes down.

I would think that happens to many people. I get panic attacks when I go to the dentist. Doctors don't bother me as bad though.
