There are advantages and disadvantages in seeking legal help from a lawyer who specializes in Immigration matter. You can guarantee an efficient service and your application for K-1 petition seems more credible to the visa center. I made mention of this because you know that there are cases of mail order brides. On the other hand, you also have to pay them a big sum of money for your application.
I advise you that you rather read the Immigration website and fill out the forms yourself and your fiancee. The process is simple but the waiting of approval is longer than you can ever imagine (as they say). Normally, it takes some people like 6-12 months to get approved. From the National Visa Center to US Center for Immigration Services.
I was once a K-1 applicant and now, I have my green card. My visa petition took only 5 months and I worked on my lawful permanent residency for only 2 months. The process was quick. Just get all the papers you need in order and be very organized. I think that's a plus.

They have more experience completing the forms. A minor paperwork error could be reason enough for you visa to be denied. The lawyers also have the most up-to-date information. Laws change randomly and not all laws are high profile enough to get front page coverage in the newpaper.

There is no benefit ...you'll only have to hand over plenty of money for filling in rather simple forms yourself ... if you don't envisage any problems with your fiancee, I would suggest you fill out the forms yourself and submit them .... if you run into problems, you can always contact a lawyer later ....
