The key word is INNER. Outside influences only affect that which you allow. Inner peace relies on YOU, not the outside.

Of course, if you've got some nutcase ready to cut off your head, that might make it a bit difficult....

I should hope so. I seek it as well. The collective unconscious is very turbulent at this time. So in achieving your own inner peace, pray that others do too. Maybe the world will become a better place to live in.... Blessed Be.

I've not known anyone who has been able to do it. We are taught to help others and not be selfish. I don't really know how anyone can reach total inner peace without reaching out and helping fellow man. But, I guess if you are involved it's hard to have peace within. So ... No I don't think it is possible unless you are extremely selfish and God nor Jesus would want that.

Well yes. Unless your have inner turmoil inside of you. It is completely possible to achieve inner peace with bad things happening. You must learn to separate yourself from events.

Oh and I'd thought I'd add this. You don't need Jesus or Buddha or Mohamed or any thing but yourself.

You can not change what is in the world, but you can start with yourself. Probably no TV, radio, bad family members or friends that are not as comforting and supporting as you would like them to be. I am trying to train myself as well. The song "Have a nice day" and some more of Bon Jovi songs did a break through for me. First you have to let go of any people that bother you. Have a nice day "with a finger" is a way to start.

The source of my inner peace has nothing to do with anything that happens in this world, but in my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

You can have inner peace and still be saddened by the evil around you. You just can't let it take the inner peace away!

Well instead of turning to god and expecting everything to turn out for the better because you did, do this:

How about doing something in your life where you can do some good in the world?

How about doing something to prevent the bad things from happening?

It is too easy to just pray for it to get better.

You have to work for your well being.
