I've done some paintings I call paint drawings where I've been painting on canvas with actual paint but where the effects look like a drawing (there's two displayed in my 360).

The point is this process takes forever. So I'm wondering if any of you know of a permanent marker-type pen that I could use instead of paint that would still last as long as paint on canvas and still have the same effect?

In otherwords, I want to spead up the process and still create a work that will last many years. Can we have it both ways?

Specific brand names would help.

Thank you.

Many permanent markers fade under sunlight. Sharpie is a popular one, and does a great job, initially. After some time, though, it does fade out to just a spidery line. I don't know of any for sure to recommend that will last for years.
There is a tool in which you put your thinned paint in a little cup which is attached to this brass pen-like instrument, and use it to draw lines until the paint is all used up in the tool. It works great for acrylics, but I've never tried it for oils. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the name of this tool!
I believe I got mine from Viking Woodcrafts.
