I'm referring to www.spp.gov ...

This is already in place ... and as you can see if you actually READ it, Bush has already committed us to a temporary work visa arrangement, albeit to "professionals" ... quote:

The three countries have forwarded a trilateral document setting out each country's domestic procedures to modify NAFTA's temporary entry appendix on professionals to the NAFTA Free Trade Commission for approval. This will clarify procedures in each country, thereby providing a mechanism for more North American professionals to be given temporary entry.

SPP is headed by three top cabinet level officers of each country. Representing the United States are Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

It was never submitted to Congress for approval, and has lots of interesting stuff in it about free flow of workers ... give it time, by 2010 all illegals will be legal ... :(

Hi yar ... yes, there is plenty of food for thought in this document, but only so much one can fit in one question ...:(

DAR .. sorry, it doesn't have to be approved by Congress ... it's already a done deal, behind the backs of the American people, as usual ...

I have looked at it and am hoping like hell that it, like any other treaty, needs to be approved by Congress. I feel the same way about the social security 'accord' Bush signed with Mexico 2 years ago that he is very shy to bring forward. Seniors groups have actually brought suit against the government on that one, because the accord wasn't supplied in response to freedom of information act requests.

Clearly he is trying to let things get so far along that 'unwinding' it would be politically prohibitive. However, I don't think he has the ability to actually commit the country to all of that without approval of Congress.

We need to all be raising it with our Congressmen. I actually think it might be ok with a relatively coequal economy like Canada, but not with a country that doesn't provide universal education or services to its own people. They would all end up here and our already failing services would be used first to pay for them, on the argument that they are poorer.

This is part of the plans to do away with our system of government and move to a more progressive Western liberal idea. It is for a North American Union ruled by a government like the EU. With one money, open boarders and people having free access to travel.

It currect does not effect or over ride our laws and immigration laws, so anything they do at this point is still plans, or posposals.
But there are many in Congress that are moving toward this.

Why Bush is supporting it is beyond me, but he has seemed to sell out to the Liberals on immigration,

It's surprising not more people know about this. Glenn Beck on CNN Headline News is the only national show I have heard discuss it so far. Something this important should be getting a lot more media attention.
