I have a 3 year old white female pit bull and she is my life! I was wondering why people have to talk bad about dogs that they probably haven't even met! Just cause one pit is bad don't mean that, they all are!! Mine is a baby and wouldn't hurt a fly!!!

May I say that the people who answered no due to their bad rep...you are ignorant!
I love pit bulls. They are very strong dogs and unfortunately due to that strength, very pathetic people will fight them and make it a big competition. They have awards and make serious money off of it. Please report if if you know of it.
Anyway, I have a pit; Layla. She is beautiful and has NEVER bitten anyone. However, if you try to attack me or break in...I hope that she doesn't bite you because I will handle you myself! Pit bulls are very loyal and loving dogs. They have a bad rap because of ignorant people, such as the ones who are judgemental!

I myself have two red noses and they are the best dogs I have ever owned. The media only shows bad things about pit bulls so society gets scared of what they dont know. If you ask the ignorant people who say all pit bulls are killers if they have ever been around one they will probably say no. That's called stereotypeing and its not fair to us the owners who train our pits the correct way and it's not fair for our dogs to be judged for being born a curtain breed.. If people would do their research they would be very surprised from what they would find out. The number one dog that has the most bites recorded is the Lab.

I love pit bulls, they are great compagnions. They have gotten a bad rap as so many people use them for fighting, and are constantly abusing them. The very one thing that you MUST KNOW, however, is that these dogs DO NOT get along with other dogs. Now you may get away with them being around others for awhile, but the time WILL come when thet will attack another dog. They are very possesive over their master, and their ( the dog's ) belongings. I speak from personal experience, thought my dog would not be like that as she was SO SWEET to me, but she did, and nearly killed on of my other babies.

Pit Bulls are seriously misunderstood.
As with any dog, they're temperament is decided by the owner.
Yes, there are more aggressive ones as there are in any breed.
I have never met a Pit Bull I didn't like.
I remember when people thought Dobermans and Shepards were dangerous!
It's all in the way YOU raise them.

Totally agree, I have a male pit & he's the sweetest dog I've ever owned. Also, my friends own his mother & another male pit, both are very good natured. They have a 3 yr old daughter & both dogs are very good with her. Neither one has ever, in any way, acted aggressive towards her. In fact, the female is border line over-protective of the child. Most people will continue to have these feelings until they actually interact with one. My mother didn't like them until I got mine, and now she loves him.
By the way, your dog is adorable!

I love pit bulls! I have one, she is a year old and she's so gentle and loving. She does bark if someone pulls down the driveway or walks up the road, but I think she's just trying to protect us. Generally, Pit bulls are mean because people mistreat them to make them mean.

yes i do. i was eating at a resturaunt yesterday and a woman was freaking out because someone had one in their vehicle. they aren't bad dogs it is just bad breeders who don't know how to get their dog tested for temperment and it is also bad owners as well who don't know how to train their dog. I asked a question on here a couple of days ago i asked if anyone has been bitten by a dog and what kind. the most was the chihuahua. funny
she is cute has a sweet face. I wouldn't be threatened by that face.

It's not the animal........it's some of the owners and what they have done to give these dogs such a bad name....
My son also owns a pit bull. He has shown her nothing but love and she is a sweety.
He is also very responsible with her....he makes sure she is maintained if ever around his little nieces and nephews....just because he wants to make sure.
Also for her protection......if she was to do anything even minor....she would be deemed vicious just because of her breed.
Shame.

Awww...she sounds gorgeous. My in-laws and brother-in-law each have a pit bull. They are the sweetest dogs. Unfortunately, they are other animal agressive. Not people agressive...EVER. They are fantastic pets. They just also happen to be a liability, since they could easily harm a dog or cat if they got loose. Many bullies aren't animal aggressive, but these are from bloodlines of fighter bulldogs who were trained and bred that way.
The two bullies used to breed, and my in-laws and brother-in-law sold the puppies. But so many people who buy pitts just want them to be mean and aggressive...and do not act as responsible pet owners. When owners teach their dogs to be aggressive, the pitts comply because they love people so much. It's a case of people ruining what could have been wonderful pets. The two pitts are now retired from breeding. We adore them, as you adore your pitt. Good for you for treating yours well. They are so smart and loyal!

Everyone used to love smoking too. And they ignored the warnings until it was too late.
If you are careful to keep your dog safe and secure, enjoy her-they are wonderful pets.
But if you choose to ignor the warnings and think only one pitbull has been bad, you are taking a terrible chance of someone getting hurt.
Educate yourself through intelligence and not emotion. Then you can protect both your dog and people.
