My 3 month old male kitten was apparently on top of my 4 1/2 month old female kitten. Everyone says 6 months, but I DON'T WANT KITTENS!

Most vets recommend waiting until they are 8 months+.....

Spaying your cat is an important part of basic cat health care. Spaying at a young age prevents mammary cancer and spaying at any age prevents unwanted birth (but your cat may be matured enough to be mated...lol...)

The traditional age for spaying is six months, however, this practice has enabled kittens to be adopted from the shelters unspayed.

Often the new owner fails to return for spaying and the result is further contribution to the pet over-population problem. The last ten years has brought me a great deal of research into “early” spaying and we now know that there is no problem with spaying as early as 8 weeks of age.

Do spay the female patients when they weigh at least 3 1/2 to 4 pounds.

anywhere from 6 to 8 months is a good time to spay/neuter a kitten. don't worry about it getting pregnant before then, because cats don't reach sexual maturity until 9- 12 months, depending on the cat.

Newer procedures make early spaying/neutering a less complicated and dangerous idea, BUT I would highly recommend going directly to your vet with this question, because they know what kind of procedure they use (some vets use older methods, some new, some offer different methods at different prices), what the risks are, and when it's safe for the cat.

How will the male cat adapt? - Cats frequently adapt to alterations very slowly. i ought to commence off by putting them interior a similar room for about an hour an afternoon & then seperate them. attempt this for about per week, including extra time on each and every time you position them at the same time. this can help them get use to seeing eachother for lengthy sessions of time. what to assume from him? - He might want to no longer act agressive, in any respect. the purely time male cats will act agressive is even as they're round different male cats. putting 2 male cats at the same time will reason issues, they're going to wrestle over territory, interest, & area. Male & lady cats frequently aren't to any extent further a situation. Do you imagine we'd want to continuously spay/neuter them? - definite. A deffiant definite. lady cats frequently search for to detect a mate to make toddlers with, they continuously could have that motherly instint. i does no longer hardship about it contained in the very begining, yet beforehand they alter into close, that ought to correctly be executed; except you want little kittens operating round :3. ? wish this replaced into powerful & solid success which includes your cats ?!

With a male cat they can do it fairly young via laser, however it is rather expensive. With most cats 8 months + that should give you a little time before they start to go into heat

My vet told me six months. Also, ask your vet but I would think that your kittens' sexual organs are probably not developed enough yet to be able to procreate, since they're so young.

They were probably just playing. Its safe to get them fixed by the time they are 3 months old.

For dogs it's 4 months, I'd think it would be the same for cats. Call your vet Monday.
