Polish works quite good, but the best way is to save the movie in your computer and write it again on a clean, brand-new CD (or ask a friend to do it 4 u). Toothpaste can also be an option, however u have to be careful coz u can damage the CD if u don't rub GENTLY - it happened 2 me. That's about all u can do.
BTW definitely NOT alcohol it will harm the CD even more!

Try putting on loads of polish and then rubbing it off sometimes the polish goes into the scratches.

rub a light coat of tooth paste over the cd (use WHITE tooth paste only). gently wipe off with dry clean cloth.
rubbing alcohol works also
