Hey alll.. I have a white coat on my tongue, but it doesnt look like the white coat on any of the images in google, when I typed in Oral thrush. I heard this is caused by low immunity. I'm very thin (15 lbs underweight) I eat lots of candy and Ive been on antibiotics for 5 months, but I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and am scared about HIV because I just lost my virginity to my boyfriend. He says he's been tested, but I'm still afraid. I was on nystatin for 3 weeks, it didnt work. Gentian violet didn't work and now Im on Clotrimazole, which doesn't seem to be working. My doctor said my culture came back negative, and it might be an allergy or something, but I had gentian violet on when he took it, and I was wondering if that might have changed the outcome. I'm terrified, I'm 22, Ive never had a blood transfusion or shared a needle. Ive only had sex with one man who says he isnt infected, but I'm still terrified. Someone help and please answer quick. I am prone to Yeast infections.

It is the antibiotics you are taking.
Thrush is a very common side effect and though it is a symptom of HIV/AIDS, I'm pretty certain that's not your problem.
It is very easily taken care of by a trip to the doctor where you will most likely receive a tablet that dissolves in your mouth.
If your doctor can't figure it out, get a second opinion, but the yeast infections and the thrush you are talking about are both very typical of antiobiotic use.
You could also start eating yogurt or taking acidophilus capsules to prevent or at least cut back on your yeast infections.

Thrush is common for people with HIV. You need to call the National AIDS Hotline and speak to a councelor right away at

1-800-342-AIDS. Tell them EVERYTHING.

They can also tell you where to get tested in your area for Free.

Listen, I hope you dont have HIV, and if you dont--let this be a lesson for you. Use Condoms! It is your Resposibilty as a sexually active young woman to use condoms--buy some on your own.... Never-Ever trust your partners words when it comes to HIV--always demand that you and your parnter get tested for HIV together as a couple before you become sexually active.
And continue to use condoms even if you both test Negative--because all it takes is 1 time for him to cheat on you and get HIV..

Plus, there are other STD's like Herpes and Genital Warts that are dangerous. Also know that condoms do not offer full protection from Herpes & Genital Wart since they ae caught from skin-to-skin contact. (oral sex, kissing, and regular sex when the crease of 2 thighs rub together).. So, before you sleep with someone, know that you run the risk of being infected with an STD for the rest of your life, and decide if that piece of a$$ is worth it. (better to be celibate & wait for your Prince Charming Husband)

Peace

Go to a health food store, and ask for Acidophillis in pill form, make sure it's refrigerated, or it's not really effective. Follow the directions for dosage. It worked for my daughter when she had thrush, and it's all natural.
