but i was thinking more along the lines of channel tunnel, ferry or flight. I could book a flight for £200 (two people) but want to have as much money to spend on a hotel as possible....

Your best bet is EASYJET or Ryanair
with departures from most of the british and irish airports and the least expensive flights. It depends where your departure city is.

Ryanair has flights from Dublin into Beauvais airport which is just northwest of Paris. really cheap Then you would have to take a bus or RER (local train) into the city.

Easyjet has the most amount of flights from the Uk.

Then you have the Eurostar, if you look in internet you will find offers that might be interesting.. From London or Ashford to Paris

Or take a train to Dover and then the ferry across the channel and take a train down to Paris...
You'll find plenty of choices...

The absolute cheapest? Work for a cruise line that will take you to Paris as part of the job. Won't cost you a penny, and you'll even profit from it!

Try the online agents at the page below. Both do searches on the dates you choose.
