Yes, even if it was a one-way trip. One of the largest barriers to spacecraft design for these missions is designing them for the return flight to bring people back. I think that humanity should consider the option of volunteers willing to make a one-way trip, if it had the potential to advance science and knowledge by decades.

Sure - why the bloody hell not. I would love the quiet time to meditate, read, write & draw. But then I would need a new fangled pc gizmo to simmulate a sketchpad to save my art creations, or else I'll have to drag along a few hundred pounds of blank paper. And I would also need to find someone to look after may Animols.
** by the way, isn't that that last thing that hasn't been invented for the PC or Laptop PC? --- A Sketchpad...? Will you be the next multimillionare and save a poop load of trees from being turned into wasted sketchpad paper?
Theoretically - you do travel across space, every time you move from point *A to point **B.
