It is a mixture of pride, apprehension, and determination.

The thought that this is the last place I wanted to go competed with the thought that this is the place that I should go.

In Iraq - you remain very busy. For myself 'the hours dragged but the days flew.'

When I really had time to think, my thoughts focused on family and how I was going to reward myself by modifying my Jeep.

don't know .the peoples i know who have left for iraq didn't really talk of the war .but just of coming back to thier family safe .

After being in so long it isnt a question of thinking its more of a program activated because its what you do and have survived thus far. Someone has to go to keep the cowards left behind safe. Someone has to do their duty. Someone has to maintain their honor unlike cowards. We do what we do and we accept it.

my soon to be ex husband thinks its cool in iraq. he says its like playing gi joe in a giant sand box. some soldiers are retarded like that. then the true soldiers are scared shitless excited and proud all at the same time.

i thought about what i may expeiriance, whether or not it was like it was on the news. I thought about how bad it sucked to leave my wife and kid behind, whether or not she would cheat on me. (which she did after i got back, said she didnt while i was over there) kinda wonder if your gonna be the one that gets hit by the IED.

i believe they think they are doing and being all they can be for our country and our freedom as we know it today....in my eyes they are heroes
