Not really. Some religions have multiple gods, some only have one. Some worship a goddess instead of a god. Some look to their god as protector, creator, etc, while others look to theirs as someone who's just kind of there.

One of the unifying concepts of religion is belief in a creator. Maybe the second is to love God with all your heart and to treat others as you wish to be treated yourself. After that starts the human element. All religions are based on faith. Faith means there is no certainty. It is acceptance. All religions state this basic premise, and then unhappily promptly forget it.
I cannot deny that if I was born in Iraq, I'd be a muslim. If I was born in India, I'd be a hindu, etc. Nor can you deny you would have a different religious faith depending on where you were born. It is not a puzzle, it is a fact. If you are born in the middle of India, and all your people are hindu's, then how can you be a Christian? It makes no sense and God is not stupid. Thus, another fact is that religion is the politicization of faith to create a human organization that simply points toward God. Faith in God is not the issue, having certainty in religion is the issue.
So the principle is, God the creator exists, believe in a religion, and then, please allow for religious freedom. We must allow for religious freedom because there is no certainty which is the right religion. Besides, the record of single state religions is pretty horrid. Religious competition is a good thing and might lead to the truth.
For me, I'm a Christian after years of struggle and a step of faith. But, there for the grace of God, I could have been something else. I understand that and accept that.
However let me add, today's dogmatic Christians are too often self-righteous and exclusionary. When you read the bible, you find that Christ was not self-righteous, and very inclusionary.

Sadly, no there is no common belief about God, in a recent tabulation, there are 10 main religions, and some 10,000 sects. Of these, some 6,00 exist in Africa, 1,200 in the U.S. and hundreds in other lands. Some say that various religions represent different ways of presenting religious truth. But a comparison of their teachings and practices with the Bible indicates, rather, that the diversity of religions is because people have become followers of men instead of listening to God. What is noteworthy that, to a large extent teachings they hold in common, but that differ from the Bible, originated in ancient Babylon. Questions we must ask ourself about religious teachings: On What Are its Teachings Based? are they from God or are they from men? Is It Making Known the name of God?
Jesus said in Prayer: "I have made your name known to the men you gave me out of the world." Is True Faith In Jesus Being Demonstrated? This involves appreciation of the value of the sacrifice of Jesus human life and of his position today as heavenly King. Appreciation is shown by obeyingJesus--sharing personally in the work that he assigned his followers. True religions faith is accompanied by works. Is It Largely Ritualistic, A Formality, Or Is It a Way of LIfe? God disapproves of religion that is a formalism, True religion upholds the Bible Standerd of morality and clean speech, instead of going along with popular trends. DO It's Members Truely Love One Another? Jesus said: "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves. Is It Truly Separate From the World? Jesus said his true followers would be "No Part of the World" Are Its Member Active Witnesses Concerning God's Kingdom? Jesus foretold: "This Good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come"

I think most religions accept a creator of some sort as well as exclusivity of their religion. And most religions (including some Christian denominations) believes that salvation comes through works alone.-and likewise believe that certain actions will damn your soul eternally.
The exception would be with evangelical Christianity. It teaches that man is evil by nature and by himself, would never be worthy of the kingdom of heaven...but because God loved his children so much, he chose not to smite them from the earth and send them to the eternal damnation that they deserve...he provided a way out for those who would choose to love and obey him. HIs commands are not hard...do not worship any other gods or idols and love your neighbor.

God is one....and is omni-present..is almighty...is the sumpreme controller... there is a god's kingdom (named differently in diffrent religions)......god's kingdom is timeless (no theory of relativity there)... there is no birth-death cycle after
someone reaches god's kingdom ......many other basic similarities.....no other worship except GOD's, considered good....best worship is love-worship of GOD, considered as apex
worship in every religion......many more we can find if we dont just Read but Study all the holy scriptures present on the earth.......many more.....explained differently in different flavours...

i would gather to say that the common belief would be that GOD is the rewarder of good to those who do good .... (my idea is based more on the after-life)
((keep in mind, doing good may be a different notion to this one or that one depending on the culture/belief/faith))
