The concerns are not about the race (ie Mexicans), it is over citizen status.
We do have all kinds of races living in the United States, it is what make us very unique, but there are laws that should need to be followed. People who come to this country illegally are the concern in this debate. Many of our illegal aliens come from our South Border, and by no means are they all Mexican, they very in their race. They come from many of our neighbors to the South of the border. Mexico, and thus Mexicans just tend to get the most attention.
I honestly don't care what the race of a citizen is, only that they go through the process to become one. I understand that it can take a long time, but if it is worth doing it is worth doing right.
They could also focus on fixing the issues with their country. I understand that is a great undertaking, and hard with some governments, but isn't that what the USA did to become who we are. We had a revolution. (I am not promoting a revolution for Mexico just that they are other options to hoping the border.)

I think most people are just mad because a lot of the concern or whatever with mexicans is that what is being seen is the illegal immigration side. True mostly everyone at somepoint in their family history had someone immigrate from some other country. My folks did it, but it was legal. They pay taxes, have drivers licenses and insurance. I think illegal immigrants should be deported. But to each their own.

We are not complaining about 'the Mexicans' we are complaining about the 'illegal immigrants' regardless of home country. It just so happens that due to the proximity of Mexico and the fact that we fund services like education for the poor that Mexico doesn't serve, the majority of illegal immigrants are Mexicans.

Of course we should treat all illegal immigrants the same.

What are people thinking? Why are they so prejudice against a mexican, if he is here with no papers? What difference does it make? He is still a human being!Africans were brought here illegaly, where are their papers? Chinese are not american. What about japanese? More than half of the people in the U.S. are mixed with something other than american! What difference is a piece of paper going to do? All cultures and races are equal!

I think one reason is that more Mexicans have immigrated here, mostly illegally, than we can assimilate. Thus we have signs in Spanish, forms in Spanish, etc. Not having been taught a second language, this can feel threatening.

Other groups who have immigrated here have pretty much assimilated into the larger culture and don't have their own television channels, etc.

At issue is illegal immigration. UN-fortunately, mexican citizens make up the lion's share of today's illegal alien demographic, hence all the friction and controversy. We are a multi-cultural society, but we're not STUPID. Mexico, and other countries that illegal immigrants to the US hail from, need to pull their flippin' socks up and get their respective acts together. The US has carried them for a loooooooong time, now...time to show some of that independent initiative, pluck, spunk, derring-do, signs of life, whatever you may call it, but they need to get their butts in gear and start supporting their OWN people. Cutting down on corruption wouldn't hurt em none, either...

All those others are paying taxes and aren't working under the table thus driving down American pay.

And the ones who are are no better then the goofs in Mexico. But you will notice the problems with other kinds of people pale's in comparison to the illegals in Mexico>

this country was built and created by immigration. Everyone in the US who is not of pure indian descent was an immigrant at some point! this new law banning them is a bunch of bunk.

Also, they do jobs we dont want to. Florida's orange production was one of the lowest EVER this year because of this new policy.

All its doing is hurting this country.. and it goes against everything we've ever sponsored. We might as well take down the statue of liberty now, because the poem thats on it has been completely invalidated by this legislation.

Seriously, the only thing that bothers me about illegal immigrants is this: They usually get paid under the table, which means they're not paying taxes. Then, they have children, for which they get government aid. So basically, our tax dollars are paying for these people & they're not contributing anything back. Beyond that, they do help our economy a lot, so it's kinda' a Catch 22.

Why does everyone seem to miss the word "illegal"?. There are plenty of Mexicans who are here "legally" and nobody has a problem with them.
