Why certainly! Not only could you win 10,000$, but, it'll encourage you to keep on writing and the more you write the more you'll polish your "gift"...I think that's great that you're a writer...but don't stop there...there are places (some on line) looking for children's stories...some magazines look for short stories to enter in...if you keep your eyes wide open..there are opportunities all over for a young budding novist like yourself! Best of everything..."keep the pen moving"....

It couldn't hurt to try, it's not like you have anything to lose. I read your poem from a couple of weeks ago and thought it was overall pretty good. It has a certain depth to it, the only thing was the pattern kinda threw me off because at first you started a limerick, and then you just kinda let it flow. But like I said, over all, pretty good.

when i started competeing in writing/performing contests when i was about in junior high, i started winning them fast as i could write. i wasnt in it for the competing, more for the accomplisment of knowing and proving i could do it myself and it would be the best work i ever done. i entered poetry.com contests and i won a few off of those, alll i can tell you if you feel it is the best job you possibly could do on it, then enter it, who knows you might win and your family and yourself most importantly will be proud of what you have accomplished. (by the way i took state in poetry prose by writing one poem but i competed every year if my junior and one year in highschool. i competed in solo/ensemble with a B rating , the only reason was because my best friend beat me. but it was ok . but i competed more times then i could count, but i gave it my best shot!!! people will respect you for doing your very hardest!!!

I think that you should decide whether or not you want other people to read your work. If you don't take this chance you won't know what would have happened. Who knows you may even win $10,000

Just check out this contest to make sure it is the real deal before you release any of your own material so nobody steals it for their own. Good Luck..

Yes, You should. i mean what do you have to loose. The worst that could happen is that you dont win. The best thing that could happen is that you win 10,000 dollars. I say go for it.

No. Aside from it being a crap scam, you need to buy the book of poetry that comes with it, and that is $45.

Yes but be careful, some of them are scams and they take your poem and publish it without paying.
