Unless it is a serious type of food poisoning like salmonella or botulism ... it is likely they will just try to make you more comfortable.

They have medications that can help control the nausea and the diarrhea caused by food poisoning. Beyond that, most types are nuisances that the body will clear out on its own.

Most of the "24-hour flu" we get is actually a mild form of food poisoning. We also get lots of mild cases of chemical food poisoning without even realizing it.

Food poisoning is really very common. When it gets serious or threatens to do harm to our internal organs ... medical intervention is needed.

Antibiotics ... activated charcoal ... IV hydration ... those are some of the things the medical folks will use to help.

I have not gone to the ER for this before, but I worked in one for several years. If your vomiting what they will do is start an IV to keep you from dyhdrating if your not already. They will also give you some medications to stop you from vomiting, and possibly give you a prescription to go home with that will help you keep from vomiting.

depends on how bad you are doing. They will give you medication to stop your stomach from cramping. Hook you up to an I V for fluids and probably start you on some antibiotics.

First they will try to vomit your poisonous food you have eaten .

They will ask you to insert your fingers deep in your mouth and try to vomit the food out.
