It will be a church wedding, with a reception and dance afterwards. Held in the spring or summer. Thank you.

Theres acctually alot more to deal with the one thinks when starting to plan a wedding. I thought it would be so easy, or at least it seemed easy. my wedding is now in 3 weeks, and there seems to be so much to do, that its overwhelming.

The number one thing is to make sure you start early with your planning. So, if you had it next summer, now would be the perfect time to start!

Since you already know where you are having the wedding, you wont have to worry about that. Thats one of the biggest things to figure out. So, luckily you already have that out of the way.

You need to think about if your going to serve dinner/lunch or just little appetizer type things, or just buffet style, or just little things to munch on. Are you going to make them, or will you be hiring someone to do it....

then you have to think about since your having music, will you hire someone (a dj or a live band) or will you do your own music. You can burn all the songs in order on a CD and do it that way (i know alot of people who did that).

You also have to think about what type of things you will need for the wedding itself. Will you need tables at this church if you have dinner? You can rent ANYTHING from wedding rental shops, all the way down to the napkins.

You also need to think about if you want to hire a photographer to do your pictures at the wedding, or just have a family friend do them.

Then you get down to the smaller things, but these seem to be the worst. Will you have party favors for the guest? What type of flowers do you want? How many brides maids/grooms men? Who do you want to invite? Compiling the guest list and their addresses seemed to take me forever! Who's going to pay for everything? What color's do you want? What dress will you wear?

I would go out and buy a wedding planner book. They are about $15 but soooooo worth the money. I dont know what I would do if I didnt have mine. I think i might have gone nuts by now trying to remember every detail!!!

Good luck and congrats!!!

There's a lot of planning depending on what style of ceremony and reception you prefer. If you're going to be doing this yourself, I highly recommend http://www.theknot.com It has a to-do list of things that you may or may not think of doing and gives you a suggested time frame as to when to do them. I have used to plan my wedding and am very pleased with it. My personal suggestion is pick out your sites first and reserve them, same with the catering and music (if applicable to you). Good luck and Congrats!!

I'm getting married in 15 days and trust me, there's QUITE a bit, even if you're not trying to go all out. We're just spending about $3,000 and that's CHEAP!!! We're using a friend's backyard for the reception, another friend of her family is making homemade rootbeer for us for free, to serve at the reception, things like that to cut corners. If you want to see how much things USUALLY cost, who does what, and stuff like that, go to www.utahweddings.com and it'll give you a rough layout of a cheap wedding, medium, expensive, and a good timeframe and WHEN things need to be done by (registering for gifts, sending out invites, bridal showers and all that crap, etc. It's REALLY helpful, even if you don't live in Utah. ;)

I agree www.theknot.com is a good site. You might also pick up a wedding planning book or planning kit at Borders for a complete wedding planning time line.
