An embryo is a soul. People are souls and animals are souls.
Genesis 2:7_"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
Revelation 16:3 _"And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea." The New International Version translates this verse_"The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died."
People do not have souls, thay are souls.
A soul eats_ " Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people." Leviticus 7:27
A soul is not immortal--it can die__"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him." Ezekiel 18:20

In the Bible book of Genesis at chapter 2 vs 7, it says, And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground, and to blow into his nostrils THE BREATH OF LIFE, AND THE MAN CAME TO BE A LIVING SOUL. The soul is not an entity separate from the body, the body is the soul! Isn't that wonderful?/

To be absent from the body is to be in the presense of the Lord. That means before birth and after death.

i have small children.
when my daughter was born, she recognized pictures of Jesus and smiled and giggled cooed and kicked when you would talk about the angels.
Just had twin boys, they do the same thing....very odd.
