If you send an email to a business asking a question and they reply....should you send another email thanking them for the reply? or is that not necessary? Is it rude not to?

It's not rude not to...remember they are a business though and probably whomever handles their email customer service is busy...opening tons of emails daily, and half of them are 'thanks'! would get annoying after a while...my vote would be only send a thank you if you were having a particularly difficult issue and someone assisted you in solving it...if it's a routine inquiry for information, I'd forgo the "thank you"...they won't be offended...

This would be the polite thing to do. It is not rude at all, you might make someone's day. Most people are takers and when you get something back, even if it is just a thank you, you really feel appreciated. That is why so many of us look forward to the 10 points for best answers. We would like a thank you, in the form of 10 points. Ok

With a customer service type thing (e.g. you go to a website and ask a question they respond) I would think it would be ok not to. If it's someone you're building a relationship with, it wouldn't hurt. If you are in a close business relationship, in that you work together daily, it might get tedious for the person to get a thank you every time so I wouldn't.

I don't think it hurts in most cases, if they have helped you in some way and they obviously paid attention to your issue, they might appreciate that it got noticed.

Well it is definatly not rude to not send a reply to a reply. Especially if you just want to thank them for answering you. If that were so then they would be obligated to send you a reply stating your welcome. It is nice however just to say thank you when ever you feel the urge and it is most generally appreciated.

if any manager replies if any of the managers reply If you are so concerned about grammatical correctness, why would you use a non-word like wanna? It makes you sound like a little kid.

You can if you want, but it is not necessary especially if you have included in your original email something like, "thank you in advance for your attention to this matter."

It's not necessary, and businesses are overwhelmed with email anyway.

You don't have to reply on a reply. Their answer stops the communication..

Of course it's rude not to. You should at least thank him/her for their efforts, and close the case. Trust me, I'm British. I would know about good ettiquette.
